I've made these cute brooches using spent plastic gift cards as a base. All my fabrics are either recycled or leftover scraps saved for me by stitchy friends. My threads are also leftovers collected by the ladies of Airedale branch of The Embroider's Guild.
Pieced by hand and embroidered with cretan and blanket stitches, stuffed to make a pad and finished with a button in the centre. These versions of my padded brooch are made in shades of Green, White and Violet to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the passing of the Representation of the People Act 1918 which gave the vote to some women and all men in the UK
