A one of a kind, wearable pincushion ring featuring tiny, hand-stitched patchwork. I've been making English paper pieced patchwork, especially in hexagons for as long as I can remember but never as small as this! The hexagons are 1cm in diameter and I have hand-pieced, appliqued and embroidered the piece with tiny stitches.
The fabric is the rare 'Shelley' from Woodrow from which I have isolated elements of the design of Royal Doulton teacups to make my teeny patchwork. The embroidery is worked in Black and gold and reads 'Sewing mends the Soul' The pincushion is trimmed with hand dyed cotton lace and a vintage mother of pearl button and will arrive boxed with a selection of pins similar to the ones shown. The base is a 30mm disc in antique bronze and is adjustable.
